The Hitachi M12V plunge router is a good choice for routing wood doors and jambs for electric strikes, flush bolts and other types of hardware. It is supplied with both a ¼” and ½” collet chuck. The ½” collet chuck is used to hold the larger diameter router bits needed to route flush bolts and electric strikes. This unit has plenty of power, a variable speed control and plenty of “throw” needed for deeper plunge cuts.
